The Art of Giving

Around a month ago I found a really nice card left in my inbox at the office given to me by several staff members.  Attached to this card was a small box, a box of wonder to me for I didn't know what would be inside.  I opened the card up first and was really touched that my co-workers. My friends had remembered my birthday.  It wasn't any major birthday, just another day, but each one of my friends at the office had signed a brief note of well-wishing.  I carefully read what each person wrote and was amazed that they had each been so kind to take the time and jot a though of appreciation for our friendship. The box contained a gift card to a local area restaurant which was also an affirmation of the type of co-workers I have.  What was most impacting was the thoughtfulness exhibited.  A simple gesture that went a long way towards solidifying our relationships.  This act of kindness is the art of giving.

HowGiving is designed to help make giving easier...and impacting.  Through our automation users can more easily remember those friends, family, co-workers, or clients in a personal way, making a lasting impact.  The art of giving because automatic and the fruit of thoughtfulness is a lasting relationship and a challenge to also remember others.  Through the HowGiving apps in both mobile and desktop platforms, users are also presented with noteworthy charities that are doing the most good in the world, making a difference in their area of expertise.  With one click users can further investigate these charities and if inspired, can participate in supporting their cause.  All in the scope of the art of giving.

Recently my wife and I enjoyed a weekend lunch date at that local area restaurant using the kind gift card given me on my birthday.  While we savored the wonderful dishes prepared, I remembered the kindness of my friends.  I left with a desire to pay it forward.  Thoughtfulness is impacting.
